state of change
this is super bro science. do not take my words to heart.
I mentioned in the post about exercise and will power but the state of change is really powerful now that I've been experimenting with it.
The result is that now most of cardio actually feels weightless and easy. By controlling the pace, stride length, and speed we can change how fast our bodies gets used to the stress of a given exercise.
to change the state it costs way more energy compared to maintaining a state. it's actually not even fair for the use of energy to go from 0 to 100 versus staying at 80. it's probably because the body is already in motion and the deviations or adaptions from the body are less than one might expect. funny cause I've always thought that saying at 80 is much harder.
I'm really curious to keep increasing my speeds since it might be biased due to my increased level of cardio. but, I knew that some days was rough just because of something random. it likely has to do with sleep, focus, or rhythm that the body moves someday. makes sense cause not every day we move exactly the same. I'm sure some days the body deviates from its regular flow.
what I'm curious is about is if this is what runners high is? i should look into the time it takes for the body to adapt to jogging. I wonder if you can cheat the way to runners high but focus really hard on the consistency of pace, movement of the body, and other breath which lets the body adapt to jog at that level.
Though, I do want to mention that it doesn't fix muscle soreness or tiredness. which makes sense, but I found that when we stay in the same state for most physical and mental the benefits wildly change.
for mental, when you maintain the same mental strain assuming you flex the brain to a small degree to focus, time actually disappears. it's like being distracted with a good Netflix show. but instead of being literally attracted to the show because of entertainment, you fake the focus at the same state and you enter a level of trance. it's really relaxing tbh.
for physical, you just adapt to the pain of cardio. I find that if I deviate my muscles just a little bit in my stride it throws muscles that are not usually incurred in cardio into pain. making those muscle groups expend more energy towards going from 0 to 100. though it's fine to break the state once in a while, if you can maintain the level of physical movement stride, breath, pace, and body position it actually feels like a cheat code.
one thing I like to point out is that I haven't gotten a chance to test out high volume or super-intense work outs. it's all really based on my usual routine and deviation from that feeling. so it might actually be just a good couple past days. but, going forward I'm going to keep testing this.
so, begin at the highest setting you want to maintain. i thought building up to that intensity was better but it isn't. You expend more energy over time getting to that state since the body changes states more often. then keep control of the factors you have ie stride, speed, body movement, and breath. to finally top it off you flex the focus muscles or brain muscles to enter a trance to make time disappear. boom, that's my routine.
I also like to imagine I'm playing Rhythm games with my footsteps like a metronome, but ya i found this idea of the state of change really game-changing in cardio. looking to test for study and other mental tasks that might help me.
